The Return of Ugo and his friends in the highly anticipated season 2 premiere is coming very soon!Although it was only one month ago, we still recall the night "Creativity" was released like it was yesterday. The video, was delayed by one hour, but was still worth it, as it was much longer and featured music by Deon Custom. We watched part one, laughing at the memories Ugo shared with his friends. Then Brynn asked the question that changed the entire course of the video.
"Hey Ugonna?" "Yes, Brynnbogolo?" "What exactly is Creativity?" "Well... I'm glad you asked..." That moment everything changed. We still remember how dramatic it felt watching, I myself didn't get to see the entire video front to back as I was under pressure to get it out on time. So for the first time, while everyone else was reacting seeing the episode for the first time, so was I. I remember the feels watching it. I remember shortly after 9 ET, I had called Haley who had seen it already so that I could have someone see my first reactions. I remember how emotional it felt seeing it on my TV, as the sound filled the room. People texted me afterwards saying that they cried while watching, and that it was truly fantastic. I remember the ending. The dramatic urge to break free out of the prison. Yes he expressed himself, but now it was time to do it 100%, to take what he said in his speech and amplify it. The ending is based on a true story. Why I mention that is because in order to truly process and comprehend the fact that after all that, after being told that, that was just season one, and that there's so much more to see, in order to truly understand that season 2 is coming and while be a massive change to how things are, we must realize what we we're left with. OmegaUgo season 2 will be different and very unlike season 1. The first season I like to call the "get to know them" season as that's exactly what it was all about. Getting to know these five new faces we've never heard of, but are expected to know like they're family. Now that we know them. It's time for the story to be told. Episodes in the first season were based heavily on memories that the group shared as a way to again, meet them. Now, episodes are more based on plot. There will still be these memories, and episodes entirely focused on them, but we can expect to see more written plot as a way to develop these characters as characters, not exact copies of their real life personas. Episodes are now more 70% plot than story-telling of memories. Examples of plot based episodes from season 1 include "A Last Minute Christmas Video" and the second half of "Creativity" while examples of episodes entirely based on memories include "Teachers" or "Siblings'. We will be seeing more "mixed" episodes like "Ship or Be Shipped" or "Creativity" to where it's driven by plot but memories and stories play a huge role. "Origins of Opaque" is one of these more mixed ones. As Ugo tells the story of how the channel came to be, the group attends a party. However, my plan is to have, again, more episodes be based on written plots rather than "This is what happened last week. This happened last year". With the percentage of an episode being 30% story telling. There will still be entire episodes dedicated to real life memories and stories, but plot is the main focus here on out. It's very hard to explain and the best way to do so is by watching yourself. Next, every episode of Season 2 will be memorable in its own way regardless of plot to memory ratio. I feel like season one's episodes "Winter Pet Peeves" and "Band Geeks" are forgotten episodes. While people tend to remember "Unique Names" "Siblings" and "Creativity" more. In season 2, although the episodes based on memories will not be as advertised as much, they will all still be important and memorable. Although some might be more memorable than others, there won't be any that's necessarily "forgotten". My main goal is to maintain the excitement that you feel when you hear another episode is coming. Season 2 of OmegaUgo starts on OmegaUgo's Third Birthday, July 24th, 2017 at 8pm. Although the day is a Monday this year, Season 2 will stick to the "Friday Upload" rule, when an episode isn't scheduled for a certain holiday. I hope you all enjoy the next season of OmegaUgo! -Ugonna

OmegaUgo site now up-to-dateWith season 2, on the horizon, I've noticed that The OmegaUgo Website hasn't been very up-to-date. As the last update was in February, shortly after Episode 6, "Ship or Be Shipped" was released. Now, the site is back and will be maintained regularly, with a whole new look, and feel. The entire site has been teared down, only keeping the domain name (powered by Weebly, thank you).
The site has received a huge makeover that I'm very happy with, and will update on a regular basis. I apologize for the slow updates in the past, but the site now will be maintained regularly. Although some features are still on the way and they are more, I'm happy to say that the site is in a good state for now |
